Following the guidance of skilled Faculty members and Supported by MIST authority, undergraduate and post-graduate students gained many achievements over the years, from participating in prestigious international competetions to winning multiple best paper awards at both home and abroad. The talented and self-motivated students continuously prove themselves by successfully competing and winning various awards in numerous national and international competitions such as:
Formula Student Combustion China (FSCC) 2025
MIST BLITZ, the formula student team from Mechanical Engineering department, won the Best Foreign Team award and excelled in static events, earning Best Presentation Performance and 4th place in Business Plan Presentation. The team also cleared all mechanical inspections and completed endurance laps—an impressive feat for a first-year team.
University Rover Challenge (URC) 2025 & 2021
MIST Mongol Barota, Mars Rover team from MIST primarily composed of students from the ME and CSE departments, placed 14th among 38 global teams at URC 2025 in Utah, showcasing strong capabilities in robotics and rover engineering. Twelve students and a faculty advisor contributed to the rover’s development. The team became world champion, scoring a perfect 100 in the Equipment Servicing Mission, marking a landmark achievement in global rover design.
Anatolian Rover Challenge (ARC) 2024
Mongol Barota secured 2nd place (Runner-up) among 21 teams at METU, Ankara, demonstrating exceptional rover performance across simulated planetary missions.
NDiTC Init 2019 – Clash Bots
The team achieved 1st place in the robot combat competition, showcasing excellence in robotic control, durability, and real-time strategy.
International Telco Warfare 2019 – Robo War
MIST’s ME and CSE combined team secured 1st place in the Robo War segment, demonstrating advanced autonomous robotic combat capabilities.
Mars Habitat Design Contest
The department’s team won top honors among 50+ teams for an innovative, sustainable Mars habitat design.
Robot Design – Robot Nokshar Asor
The team earned the championship in a 3D robot design challenge, demonstrating outstanding robot conceptualization and modeling expertise.
