Center for Advisory and Testing Service-MIST (ARCH) is shortly known as CATS-MIST (ARCH). CATS-MIST (ARCH) has started its journey since 3rd November, 2023. The goal of CATS-MIST (ARCH) is to create a window of opportunity for the MIST Architecture Department to actively engage in research, advisory, and consulting services both inside and outside the institution in the field of Architectural Design, Heritage Conservation, Landscape Design, Urban Planning &Design, Environmental Design, Project Management, BuildingTechnology, and related areas. CATS-MIST (ARCH) has been working several projects in both military and civil arena successfully including Tangail Economic Zone, BIWTA Dreger Base Complex, ICDDRB Building Complex and Ministry of Defense (MoD) renovation and landscape etc. Moreover, the department has lab and printing facilities ( i.e Design lab, Heritage lab, UPD & Landscape lab, Environmental design lab, Computer lab, Material lab, Print shop, etc.). CATS-MIST(ARCH) is necessary to provide real-life related practical Architectural knowledge to the students for attaining OBE system compliance which is one of the prime objectives of the institution.

 

Objectives

The objectives of the CATS-MIST (ARCH) are as follows:

  1. To encourage extensive architectural research in MIST.
  2. To put profitable use of the equipment’s available in ARCH Dept undertaking Extensive research in relevant field.
  3. To enhance and utilize the academic, administrative and professional capabilities of faculties.
  4. To provide a basis for the future graduate study programs.
  5. To develop close relations with other universities and organizations.
  6. To provide real-life related practical knowledge to the students of Architecture Department for attaining OBE system compliance which is one of the prime objectives of the institution.
  7. To facilitate extensive research and advisory services to add valuable contribution at national and international level.
