MIST Applications

Our Achievements

MIST participated in the prestigious University Rover Challenge 2025 at USA, and secured the 14th position among 38 top global teams.

‘MIST Mongol Barota’ achieved an incredible 14th position worldwide in the University Rover Challenge (URC) 2025, which took place at Mars Desert Research Station, in Hanksville, Utah, United States of America, from 28th to 31st May 2025. The event was organized by the Mars Society, USA. 

Initially a total of 106 teams have participated from 16 different countries including USA, Poland, India, Turkiye, Canada, Australia, Mexico, China, Japan, Columbia, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Puerto Rico, South Korea, United Kingdom and Bangladesh. Finally, 38 teams qualified and participated in the URC Finals. More than 400 participants attended the final competition. Each team had to perform four missions - Science Mission, Delivery Mission, Equipment Servicing Mission and Autonomous Mission.

Representing our institution, "MIST Mongol Barota" was comprised of thirteen members. The team members hailed from the CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and ME (Mechanical Engineering) departments, with individuals named Md. Jawadur Rahman, Capt Md. Sarower Morshed, Raisul Islam Rahad, Istiaque Ahmed Arik, Sameen Abrar, and Savera Momtaz Bhuiyan from CSE Dept; and Al-Amin Rashid Tarek, Ahmed Ahnaf Saqafi, and Md. Faysal Hossain from ME Dept. The team was under the guidance of Respected Commandant Maj Gen Md Nasim Parvez, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, Lt Col Md Abul Basar, Lec Shah Md. Ahasan Siddique, and Lec Md Rashid Ul Islam.

The team is grateful for the wholehearted support, continuous insightful guidance and encouragement from Respected Commandant Maj Gen Md Nasim Parvez, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc of MIST, who served as the Chief Patron for the "MIST Mongol Barota" team. Additionally, they received invaluable guidance from Brig Gen Md Mahfuzul Karim Majumder (Retd), Brig Gen Md Anisur Rahman, Head of ME dept and Brig Gen Mohammad Shahjahan Majib, Head of CSE dept as the Advisor of the team.
